Page 4, line 5 – To place your information in appropriate context, “neck-shoulder pain” should be operationally defined. (Major) A: Previous researchers have used terms such as chronic neck pain or work-related neck-shoulder pain to describe this condition. In our study, the subjects were individuals who showed chronic painful muscle-related or posture-related symptoms at the back of the neck or around the upper back/bilateral scapular region (P6 Ln810). This definition agreed with the general concept of chronic neck pain [Ref 1-5]. Therefore we have changed the term neck-shoulder pain into chronic neck pain throughout the manuscript. All the changes are underlined.

Influence of pain location and hand dominance on scapular kinematics and EMG activities: an exploratory study

BACKGROUND Assessment of three-dimensional kinematics and electromyography (EMG) activities is common in patients with chronic neck pain. However, the effect of hand dominance and neck pain location on the measurement of movement and EMG characteristics is still unclear. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of neck pain location and arm dominance on the scapular ki...

Effect of eight weeks of scapular-focused exercise with and without feedback on pain, function, and scapular kinematic in a participant with shoulder impingement syndrome

Background and Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of scapular-focused treatment with (SFTF) and without (SFT) feedback on pain, function, and scapular kinematics in patients with Shoulder Impingement Syndrome (SIS). Materials and Methods: 36 males and females with SIS (age of 37 ± 6.3 years) were randomly assigned into SFTF (n=12), SFT (n=12) and control (n=12) groups. The primary o...
